THE BURNING DARK

I WROTE THIS POEM AT THE BEGINNING OF THE AUTUMN, BUT I AM POSTING IT NOW BECAUSE IT IS PERTINENT TO NOW IN MY LIFE

And now
The burning dark
Comes as autumn scorches
Cooling earth with flaming colours,
Fires rage
In souls
Seared by pains of night eternal
Let not these colours scourge
Your dying soul
But fan
Into
Life the embers
Of love laid low by fear
As red hot arrows wounded all
That lived
And grew
In the cold dark earth of winter
Let the dark now hold you
Colours fading,
Peace breathing
