In the distance between us
Lives the story of my life
Could you travel through
To get to me
To have and to hold
And know as we are known
The journey is long
And rubble abounds
In dreams and memories
And the bones are but dust
Yet still I have a face
The eyes are gone
But somewhere or other there is a heart
It’s been a long time
I am far far away

Well done, Lorraine.
A cumbersome subject, neatly arranged.

The journey is long and rubble abounds – I love that! May your journey be blessed and may you find your way to your heart of hearts where love lives and blesses.

I love this, Lorraine. It echoes the journey of so many people who are ravaged by some unforeseen disaster and left wondering if they are still lovable. That is to say, it resonates with my own experience. Very powerful writing that touches me deeply.
