Sat in your corner
I didn’t recognise you
Tiny wizened face
Behind the eyes so much pain
All strength gone from your body
Your life was ending
And you knew it was coming
You laid down your gun
Laid it at your useless feet
Never to be used again
Oh dear Lorraine, I’ve song for your poem, ‘My Gun’, by a great Australian group, ‘The Rubens’
