In my household, when I was a child, there was never any HUMOUR, my mother would always quash it. My father had a most natural and very funny sense of humour, and would often try to make me laugh. But woe betide me if I did! My mother would give me a PIECE of her mind.

Strangely, I grew up with a very prominent sense of humour. Maybe I developed it to offset the bad stuff. But to this day my sense of humiyr serves me well. To be able to laugh in the hard times is a blessing indeed. And to be able to use that humiyr to make others laugh too.

As they say, I think that my mother was cutting off her npNOSE to soute her face, and I find that very sad.
