I have been kindly nominated for the Liebster Award by Maria Cristina Gina Baroso of https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/178997158. Thankyou SO much Maria. I am overwhelmed and even more overwhelmed by your beautiful words about me and my blog. I don’t usually do awards, as I cannot manage to do all that is needed, with being blind, but I am so happy to answer your questions.
Maria, you are a beautiful person and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful words about me.
Here is the link to Maria’s blog and to her Nomination of me.
1. What do you do first when you wake up in a morning?
Although I am blind I can still see light coming through the window, and so I look towards the bedroom window to see if the light is grey, and murky, or if it is nice and bright. I look to see if there is any sun coming through the window. I then get some idea of what the day is going to be like. Sometimes the sky is reddish, or pink, which I can just see, and it is said that if the sky is red in the morning it is going to develop into a stormy day.
2. What do you do last thing before you sleep at night?
Last thing at night I have a mug of hot chocolate, and review the day. I re-live some things, and think about what has been good in the day and what has been bad. I look forwards to the next day and think about what I might do with it. Sometimes I don’t sleep too well, and so then I go into my Blog and post a few poems. Sometimes I write poems in the night as well.
3. Who’s the first person you greet Good Morning when you wake up?
My husband. I usually wake early, and he is snoring away beside me. I long to wake him up, but I don’t. I tend to wake around five o’ clock in the morning, but he diesn’t wake until about eight o’ clock. So I greet my blogging friends
4. What do you like best? Coffee or tea and why?
I like coffee because of the taste, but not too strong.
5. What do you offer your guests when they come to visit you?
We don’t have many people come to visit us, but when they do we offer them tea, coffee, or a cold juice drink. We have one friend come who likes a bacon sandwich so we always offer him one of those. We sit around in the kitchen, and the dog sits in the circle.
6. How would you treat someone who has just treated you disrespectfully publicly?
I would just ignore them. They are the ones showing themselves up not me. No point in being as bad as them.
7. Did you receive a love letter or a friend’s letter? What is your favourite line from it?
I don’t receive many letters, but I received one from my husband before we married and he said in it, “The sun shines wherever you are.”
8. Do you believe first love never dies?
I had a boyfriend when I was 16 whom I was going to marry, however, we split up, and it hurt for a while, but then the love did die. I met someone else later, whom I married. First love did die for me.
9. What is your personal mantra and why?
I an not sure that I have a personal mantra, but if I did I think it would be “There is always light in the darkness. Hold on.”
10. If you’ll be President for a month what would you do to end this Covid-19 pandemic?
I am pleased that I am not a President having to deal with this. But now that our lockdown has eased I think I might close down the pubs again, and the beaches, because people are tending not to do the social distancing in these places.
11. If you’ll be super hero who would you be and why?
I think I might like to be Robin Hood from way back in time because he robbed the rich to feed the poor. I want to see all poverty end in the world.
