DIARY ENTRY

I’ve been thinking a lot recently. And observing. Observing people! I know that a lot of us love people watching. Well I can’t physically see people any more, which is a shame because you often guage people by the expressions on their faces, body language, etc.

I have noticed, over my lifetime that a lot of people blow their own trumpets. Some love to air all the degress they have got or how high up they have got to in life. Others, like me, are dark horses! I am a quiet person, believe it or not! Though I do tend to be a bit life and soul of the party in company, but generally speaking, I am not good at blowing my own trumpet, or anyone else’s for that matrer. I was brought up with, the “A still tongue and a wise head” maxim, i still believe it.

Anyway, having said all of that, i am still writing my book (s). I have virtually finished one and begun another which is a sequel to the first. The first one gives my life story, including how I went through and coped with the cancer that left me blind and in a wheelchair, and the second one is about the spiritual side of how I coped with the cancer, and now the blindness. By spiritual I don’t mean any one kind of spirituality, for there are many, but they all have much in common.

I am enjoying my writing very much indeed even though it does mean that I neglect my blog a little bit at times.

As I am not good at blowing my own or anyone else’s trumpet I will TRY and let you know if and when any of my books become available!
For the moment though, a BIG THANKYOU to all of you who follow my blog. You are SO appreciated.

  1. Congratulations on your progress with your books Lorraine! I’m not a trumpet blower either and I have to force myself in order to sell my book 🎺 😂

Thanks Ingrid.n i know you are not a trumpet blower. Ivhave come up against many people who are though. In every walk of life. I am usually criticised for not being a trumpet blower and it just isn’t something I can do. You deserve every good thing that you get from doing your book Ingrid. I also admire you so much for beating the alcohol problem the way you have. I was reading about it iin your blog yeateday. I think anyone who xan dobthat is amazingly strong. Vso I would NEVER call you a trumpet blower. I truly do wish you well with your book and hope that you get anlot of response for your cause. Sorry if you thought I was meaning you because I wasn’t, i also know what it is like to have to force yourself. I do that every day roo. I do hope you have had a lovely fun day with your children. I don’t know what the weather is like where you are. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh Ingrid, I know JUST what you mean. I have problems when someone publishes my poems and I know we should try to market the books, but you know, I xan’t evn find the right words. I felt so frustrated the other day over it as those kibds of words just don’t come to me! So many things are so hard for sonmany of us whi tend to hang back a bit. Duh! Well that’s me anyway. I also meant though that I never make public my degrees either, but most do, and I just hardly mention it. It’s just a general thing in life I think. Anyway, though I have done all those chapters I very much doubt they will ever see thenlight of day lol. ,they are too personal really to publicise on here. Oh, and I want you to know that one of thenpists you made on your blig really really helped me yesterday when I was in a black pit. It was one of your ones about sobriety. It just spoke so strongly to me about everything not being materisl but there being a souritual side. Thankyou very much Ingrid. I needed to her that yesterday. ❤️
